Private Bus employees of the Minuwangoda – Colombo bus route have commenced a strike.

Chairman of the Private Bus Owners Association, Gemunu Wijeratne said that the strike action had been initiated over an incident where a bus driver attached to the Colombo – Kurunegala bus route was arrested over an alleged assault on a bus driver of the Kurunegala – Colombo route.

The strike action has caused severe hardship to commuters.
