Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif arrived in Sri Lanka on a three-day official visit, a short while ago.
Our correspondent at the Bandaranaike International Airport said that the Pakistani Prime Minister was welcomed by Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.
The Pakistani PM arrived in the Island based on an invitation extended by President Maithripala Sirisena. The visiting Pakistani PM will remain in the Island until Wednesday, January 6. An official welcome ceremony for Sharif will take place tomorrow at the Presidential Secretariat and will be presided over by President Maithripala Sirisean.
The visiting PM is scheduled hold official talks with the Sri Lankan president, prime minister and several cabinet ministers during his stay. In addition, MOUs on health, science and technology, trade, exchange on statistical and census data, gem and jewellery research, exchange of financial intelligence related to money laundering and terrorism financing are to be signed during the visit of Pakistani Prime Minister Navaz Sharif.
