A media briefing was convened at the Sri Lanka Freedom Party Headquarters where State Minister of Highways, Dilan Perera spoke of the electoral system.
The Minister said:
When it comes to the change in the electoral system, most parties agree 100 percent. We can agree as to whether the change in the electoral system will also be done with the constitutional amendment or creating a new constitution.
We need to discuss as to whether the electoral system will be changed and then the forming of a constitution will be done. The SLFP is of the view that the change in the electoral system cannot be delayed
Minister of Irrigation and Water Resource Management,Vijith Wijayamuni Soyza stated:
We know that those who have committed wrong must be punished and legal action must be taken against them. So, there is no debate on this. However, the manner in which action is taken must be approved by the courts and the people.
