The Presidential Commission to Inquire into Large Scale Fraud and Corruption has commenced investigations into the alleged incident of funds from the Divi Neguma Development Department being utilised for former minister Basil Rajapaksa’s domestic flights.
Secretary to the Commission, Lacille De Silva said that initial investigations have revealed that the Rs.155.6 m was handed over to the Sri Lanka Air force for the flights.
He said that several accountants from the Ministry of Economic Development and officers of the Sri Lanka Air force were questioned in this regard.
Secretary to the commission, Lacille De Silva added that further investigations are currently underway.
