The case regarding the death of ruggerite Wasim Thajudeen was taken up in court once again on Friday, December 4.
It was revealed in court that the DNA samples collected from Thajudeen was a match to the DNA samples collected from his mother.
The report which was compiled by Judicial Medical Officer Ajith Tennakoon reveals that Wasim Thajudeen, whose charred remains were discovered in his vehicle, was not killed as a result of the burns suffered following the accident.
The report adds that the victim was beaten to death and then dumped inside his vehicle before it was set on fire.
Both these reports were submitted to Additional Magistrate Nishantha Peiris. The case will be taken up once again on the December 10.
