Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe says that a committee has been appointed with the intention of collaborating and implementing the development projects which were initiated in Hambantota, together with all relevant ministries and ministers.

The Prime Minister made this statement while addressing the progress review meeting of the institutions attached to the Ministry of Southern Development in Koggala, Galle on Sunday November 23.

The PM said that he has appointed a committee, together with the Minister of Southern Development and Minister Sarath Amunugama, on how they can collaborate the projects in Hambantota.

He further stated that there are a few conditions that they have to overlook once the construction work on the Hambantota Port is concluded and the investments which came into the project are estimated.

Speaking further, he said that all of these tasks have been handed over to this committee and following discussions they are ready to industrialise this area.
