Two suspects have been arrested in connection to the murder of a Maldivian national in Thumbowila, Piliyandala.

Police say that the youth was contracted to be murdered.

Police added that the murdered youth was an alleged member of a wanted underworld gang.

Preliminary investigations have revealed that the underworld gang had granted a contract to a Maldivian national in Sri Lanka to murder the youth who was also known to be Maldivian national.

It is stated that the murder had been orchestrated by a Maldivian and a Sri Lankan national.
