The Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna,  at a media briefing on Saturday, commented on the issue surrounding the Post of Chairman of the National Dangerous Drugs Control Board

JVP MP, Sunil Hadunnetti stated:

In the recent past, the National Dangerous Drugs Control Board compiled a list of politicians connected to Drugs and Ethanol. And the chairman of this body revealed to the media that the list comprises of names of politicians in the previous government. So, if the Chairman who compiled this list, is being arbitrarily removed, there is an issue.

He raised the question if the government of good governance, protecting those connected to Drugs and Ethanol?

He further stated:

With the exposition of the Avant Garde issue, the people are having doubts as to whether the government of good governance is protecting the rogues in the previous government. S what the government should do is to expose the names of the politicians in the list that was formulated by the National Dangerous Drugs Control Board. hey need to take legal action and they should not send the Chairman home.

He also stated:

The President appoints one persons to that post and the Prime Minister appoints another. There is a political message embedded within this tiny incident
