A school student was killed in an altercation that broke out during a musical show in Thihagoda, Matara.

The musical show had taken place at the Kapuduwa Public Grounds in Thihagoda.

It was reported that a verbal dispute had escalated, resulting in the stabbing.

A twelve-year-old boy died as a result of lacerations to his neck. Another person who was injured, was admitted to the Matara General Hospital for treatment.

The magisterial inquiry and post-mortem examination were carried out  on Saturday morning.
