Minister of Power and Renewable Energy, Ranjith Siyamabalapitiya says that electricity would be provided to all households in the country by January 31,    2016.

A programme to expedite this process commenced in Polonnaruwa on Monday.

Speaking at the event, Minister Ranjith Siyamabalapitiya pointed out that nearly 200,000 households still suffer without electricity.

The Minister noted that applications for this loan scheme, can be obtained from local offices of the Ceylon Electricity Board.
