National Police Commission launches investigations into over 100 complaints

The National Police Commission says that it has decided to launch investigations into one hundred and twenty complaints it has received.

Secretary of the Commission Ariyadasa Cooray says the complaints are based on the non-functionality of the police, and of it being bias.

He further stated the public can forward complaints to The Secretary, National Police Commission, Bandaranayake Memorial International Conference Hall, Colombo 07.

The National Police Commission, which was recently established, comprises of six members. Senior Professor Siri i Hettige has been appointed as the Chairman of the Commission.

The other members of the commission are Frank De Silva, Thilak Kollure, P.H. Manatunga, Savithri Wijesekara, Y. L.M Zavahir and Anton Jeyanadan.
