Sri Lanka ended their first innings at the crease with 484 runs on the board on the second day of the first test against West Indies in Galle.

Dimuth Karunaratne and Dinesh Chandimal put up a sturdy third wicket partnership of 238 runs before Karunaratne was dismissed by Samuels for 186 runs. Chandimal continued to play an anchoring role with Skipper Angelo Mathews to put up 4th wicket partnership of 86 runs.
