Minister Dr. Rajitha Senaratne says that the President is not pleased with the investigations carried out over Avant Garde.
The Minister said that in this backdrop, the President would intervene in the matter in his capacity as the Minister of Defence.
Police Media Spokesperson ASP Ruwan Gunasekera said that the Criminal Investigations Department is yet to commence investigations over the Avant Garde floating armoury anchored in the Galle harbour.
The Secretary of Defence recently announced that an independent committee had been appointed to investigate the floating armoury that entered in to Sri Lankan waters from Sudan.
This matter was also raised at the Cabinet media briefing.
