The 200th edition of the News 1st Classroom Workshop, conducted with the objective of enhancing the media literacy of students, was launched at the Niwanthakachethiya College in Anuradhapura on Thursday, October 8.
The News 1st Classroom Workshop which was successful in conducting a series of workshops, was organised to uplift the capability of students in terms of leadership and communication.
News 1st’s efforts to enhance the knowledge and understanding in the field of media to students from all walks of life, was done with the use modern methodology, to introduce the students to innovative and unconventional methods of media and Journalism.
The workshop which was conducted at the Niwanthakachethiya College in Anuradhapura today, also saw the participation of a number of neighboring schools and the event was also highlighted by the opportunity granted for the students to do a Voice Test to be the next voice of Y-FM. Ten (10) students were selected following the auditions.
The ceremony to mark the 200th News 1st Classroom Workshop will get underway in Anuradhapura on Friday (October 9).
