The conferment of  the Vishishta Seva Vibhushana decoration medal by President Maithripala Sirisena took place on the morning of Thursday, October 8  during an investiture ceremony at the Presidential Secretariat.

The Vishishta Seva Vibhushana decoration medal is conferred on senior officers of the Regular Force of the Army, Navy and Air Force, in recognition of their exceptional service.

The decoration medal was awarded to 30 active and retired officers of the three – armed forces.

Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Krishantha de Silva , Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne and Sri Lanka Air Force Commander, Air Marshal Gagan Bulathsinghala were conferred with the VSV decoration medal.
