Sebastien Ogier clinched his third consecutive title with his victory in Australia.

The three-time world rally champion went in to the day with slim lead over Kris Meeke, but dominated the final day. The Volkswagen driver won seven consecutive stages, giving him a healthy 12.3s margin over team-mate Jari-Matti Latvala to wrap up both the event and the title.

It was Ogier’s seventh win of the season and 31st WRC victory of his career that began in 2006, and became just the fourth driver to win the world title three times, behind nine-time winner, countryman and former teammate Sebastien Loeb
