Former Chief Minister of the Uva Province Shasheendra Rajapaksa was on Thursday summoned to the Presidential Commission of Inquiry to Investigate and Inquire into Serious Acts of Fraud, Corruption and Abuse of Power, State Resources and Privileges.

Secretary to the Commission Lasil de Silva stated that he was summoned in order to record a statement on the alleged irregularity in providing state-owned lands in Mahiyanganaya for various constructions.

He added that the former chief minister is currently being questioned.
