According to the Met Department, showers can be expected in the Western, Southern, Sabaragamuwa and Northwestern Provinces on Thursday, September 10.

Thundershowers may develop at a few places in the Eastern, Uva and Central provinces after 4.00 p.m.

The Met Department added that several spells of showers will occur in the sea area off the coast extending from Mannar to Matara via Colombo and Galle. Showers or thundershowers will develop at several places in the other sea areas around the country after 2 p.m.

Winds will be Southwesterly and wind speeds are expected to be 30-40 kmph. The sea areas off the coast from Mannar to Kankesanthurai via Jaffna will be rough at times as winds can strengthen up to 60kmph.
