Making a special statement on Monday, August 24, Venerable Maduluwawe Sobitha Thera, the Convener of the National Movement for a Just Society, highlighted the factors that should be focussed on by a national government that will be formed in the future.
Convenor for the National Movement for a Just Society, Venerable Maduluwawe Sobitha Thera stated that they vehemently condemn the decision to appoint to parliament, defeated candidates who have been rejected by the people.
He went on to note that they are displeased with proposal to give ministerial portfolios to defeated candidates and went on to note in order to form a national government, forty five ministers could be included.
In addition to this, he noted that like in past, large numbers of ministers should not be appointed and added that these people joined hands in forming a national government but this should not be used as an escape mechanism to evade investigations by the Commission to Investigate Bribery or Corruption.
