As the renewed investigation into the 2012 death of Wasim Thajudeen proceeds, questions are also being asked at present regarding the fate of missing journalist Prageeth Eknaligoda.

Police Media Spokesperson ASP Ruwan Gunasekera said that, with regard to the suspects in the disappearance of journalist Prageeth Eknaligoda, one of the suspects has been identified as a retired Sergeant Major and the other suspect is a rehabilitated LTTE cadre.

He also said that the CID is following up on important information that has come to light and data from that investigation has not been made available since the investigation is going on.

Meanwhile, Prageeth’s wife Sandhya Eknaligoda says that they call on the Army Commander, to ensure that army officers come before the CID. She also said that, at the same time, she calls on the President, to ensure that he does not allow Rajapaksa to misuse the leeway that he has given.
