The Office of the Police Media Spokesperson says that shots have been fired at a group of political supporters engaged in election campaigning  in Bloemendhal, Colombo.

The Office of the Police Media Spokesperson said that the shooting took place on Friday morning. It said that twelve persons who were injured in the incident have been admitted to the National Hospital in Colombo.

Director of the National Hospital Dr. Anil Jasinghe said that one of the admitted persons had died.
