A public meeting of the United National Front was held in the Nittambuwa Public Grounds, where a group including Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe was present.
Wickremesinghe said that he hopes to continue the success they had in Katunayake, Biyagama, Wathupitiwala and also that former President Chandrika Kumaratunga agreed to develop the area.
He added that they will create industrial zones and generate more income and create a larger city than Chennai in the next five years. The prime minister said when they took over the government, there were 80 vacancies in the Bribery Commission, no one was trained and they nabbed the thieves with the limited knowledge they had on the matter. A group is trained in India and another group from England is training them.
