Complaints on the rise as August polls draw closer

The Elections Secretariat has received 135 election-related complaints thus far.

The Complaints Unit of the secretariat noted that the highest number of complaints are regarding unauthorised appointments and promotions of personnel, which currently stands at 72.

Nineteen complaints are on the display of posters and cutouts for propaganda, while 13 complaints are regarding the distribution of goods and eight are on the misuse of state property. One complaint is regarding the misuse of government personnel.

Meanwhile, police have received 15 election-related complaints. The Police Election Bureau has commenced investigations into the reports.
