Minister Sajith Premadasa says some in the opposition are trying to break the strong bond between the president and the prime minister.

The minister made this observation while addressing a function in Hambanthota on Sunday.

The minister said that before January 8, public money of this country was robbed in broad day light. He said they are trying to steal the position of prime minister through the back door and conspire against President Maithripala Sirisena in parliament to bring a no-confidence motion against him.

He noted that this is the major conspiracy that through which cunning protectors are working towards sending the president home.

This function was held Sunday morning to distribute building material for the construction of the monastery of the Dharmarakkitharama Viharaya in Rubberwatte – Tissamaharama.
