A survey has revealed that 11 percent of children between the ages of 13 – 15 in Sri Lanka, are addicted to tobacco infused drugs.
The survey was carried out by the World Health Organisation, and the survey studied the use of tobacco-infused drugs among teenagers in Sri Lanka.
Chairman of the National Dangerous Drugs Control Board, Dr. Nilanga Samarasinghe making observations said that this was a very serious situation. Dr. Samarasinghe said that a programme that will help eradicate the use of drugs among school students will be established in the near future.
