On monday, May 25th a Chinese man named Gao Bingguo aged 55 years, set a new Carrying the Flag World Record in Tai’an of east China’s Shandong Province by covering himself with 109.05kg of crawling bees.
Gao who is a beekeeper for over 30 years started the challenge on Tuesday, May 26th morning with the help of other beekeepers pouring large balls of bees from hundreds of beehives on to his body.
In order to attract more bees, he attached dozen queen bees to his body, in an hour, numerous bees weighing 109.05 kilograms covered him, breaking the 83.5 kilogram record set by another Chinese beekeeper Zhang Wei from northwest China’s Shaanxi Province.
According to beekeepers, as 10,000 bees come approximately to one kilogram, Gao’s body was covered by about 1.1 million at that moment.
