The CID have apprehended two individuals from Ja-Ela area along with a stash of counterfeit foreign currency. Police said the suspects had Rs.181,000 in counterfeit Indian notes and 66,500 counterfeit Indian rupee notes that were confiscated by the police at the time of arrest.
Investigations revealed that the suspects have already exchanged the counterfeit notes to a value of over Sri Lankan Rs.271,000.
The suspects have been identified as residents of Enderamulla and Muttur.
