Deputy Minister of Aviation Services Lakshman Yapa Abewardena   says that the second phase of development of the Katunayake Airport will commence in September.

The Deputy Minister made this comment during an inspection tour of the Airport.

The Deputy Minister was accompanied by a group of officers during this inspection tour on Wednesday.

Deputy Minister of Aviation Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena said that he believes that they will be able to commence the second phase of the development activities of the terminal of the airport by September at an estimated cost of Rs.29 billion.

The first phase of the renovation activities concluded after directing funds worth 79 billion yen from Japan.
