Rehearsals for the 2015 Ranaviru commemorative parade were held on Monday morning.

The Parade will take place at Samudra Mawatha, Matara on Tuesday under the auspices of President Maithripala Sirisena and will consist of 7300 officers representing the three armed forces, Police and the Civil Defense Force.

In a showcase of strength, the Air force will be flying it’s fighter jets during the parade as the Army and Navy add Tanks, Military weapons and Navy vessels to the grandeur at the Ranaviru commemorative parade. Furthermore paratoopers will also put on a special display.

According to the Police, vehicular movement along Samudrama Mawatha will be restricted from 6 am to 11 am.
