Three individuals who stand accused of being involved in financials irregularities at the Federation of Self- Employed union was produced before the Colombo Chief Magistrate Gihan Pilapitiya on Friday.
The suspects, Mahinda Kahadagama, Chanaka Ashok Hettiarachchi, and Laknendra Kumar were apprehended by the CID following a complaint lodged by Swarnalatha Nanayakkara and Sunil Jayawardena from the same federation. The suspects were allegedly involved in a financial malpractice during the distribution of DIMO trucks through the federation and were later released on bail by the Magistrate.
The Attorney appearing on behalf of the plaintiffs said that the activities within the federation are being conducted as per the Notice issued through Court.
