One person was killed after a vehicle was swept in waters in the Balawatte area in Gokarella.

The Police Media Unit stated that the vehicle he was travelling in was swept in a water current around 6.30 pm on Sunday (May 10th).

Another passenger present inside the vehicle was rescued at the time of the accident was rescued.

The deceased has been identified as a 60 year individual.
