Parliamentarian Sajin De Vass Gunawardene has been arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).

According to Police Media Spokesperson ASP Ruwan Gunasekera the parliamentarian was arrested in connection to the misuse of 20 state vehicles belonging to the Presidential Secretariat.

The Parliamentarian was summoned to the CID this morning.

He was remanded till the 20th of this month after being produced before the Fort Magistrate’s Court on Monday, (May 11th).
