S.M. Marikkar says no need to fear elections as Mahinda Rajapaksa cannot contest

Following are some of the views that were expressed by political representatives at event in different parts of the country.

Minister of Internal Transport, Ranjith Maddumabandara, stated that during the previous government when several persons earned money, the farmer remained poor but in this Government the money that only reached the the hands of those who obtained commissions is directed towards the poor.

At the Kalutara District meeting MP Rohitha Abeygunawardena stated that they are searching for a ring that which values up to 2.7 million or 2.8. This ring should be worn in the belly and not in the finger. The Prime Minister is jobless and he is weighing rings and calculating the value of the ring.

UNP Western Provincial Councilor S.M. Marikkar made a statement at an event held to distribute light bulbs and batteries for poor families in Kolonnawa.

He noted that Basil Rajapaksa , Dallas Alahapperuma and Gotabhaya Rajapaksa who have dual citizenship also cannot contest in the presidential election since they are patriotic American citizens. There is no need to fear the presidential election since Mahinda Rajapaksa cannot contest.
