The girl from Siththandi, Batticaloa who was imprisoned for scribbling on the Mirror Wall in Sigiriya, was released on Thursday, April 30 morning.

The release follows a Presidential Pardon by President Maithripala Sirisena.

The girl was arrested and produced in court for damaging the mirror wall in Sigiriya with the use of a hair pin on the 14th of February.

Therefore the magistrate of Dambulla Sanjeewa Ramyakumara handed down a two year prison sentence.

According to our correspondent, she was released from the Anuradhapura Prison, this morning.
