The police has decided to implement a special traffic and security plan in lieu of May Day which falls on Friday.

Police Media Spokesperson ASP Ruwan Gunasekara noted that around 2800 police personnel will been deployed for this purpose.

He also added that special traffic plans will be in place along T.B Jayag Mawatha , D.R. Wijewardena Mawatha , Vauxhall Street , Ibbanwala junction , Dharmapala Mawatha and Baseline road.

The police request motorists and commuters to use alternative routes during the May Day processions.
