A woman who attempted to commit suicide by jumping into the Nilwala river has been rescued. She was rescued by a soldier stationed at the Matara Army Camp.

Our correspondent stated that the incident took place at around 10 p.m.

The identity of the woman has not been revealed. However,she has been admitted to the Matara District Hospital.
