The Prisons Department says that Former Minister Basil Rajapaksa, and two others, who were arrested for alleged financial irregularities said to have taken place in the Divi Neguma Department, have been produced before the Colombo Chief Judicial Medical Officer (JMO).
Commissioner General of Prisons Rohana Pushpakumara said that the three persons, including the Former Minister were produced before the JMO based on an order issued by the Kaduwela Magistrates Court.
The Commissioner General said that the future course of action will be taken based on the advise given by the JMO.
The Former Minister and two others were remanded until the 5th of May, by the Kaduwela Magistrates Court, after being arrested by the Financial Crimes Investigations Division on Wednesday (22nd April).
