Deputy Minister Vijith Wijayamuni Soyza made a statement at a public gathering at the Siyabalanduwa Cultural Centre and noted that they are not ready to transfer the powers of the president to the prime minister.
He further noted that Wimal Weerawansa and Gammanpila want to create a rift in the party and the UNP. He stated:
The executive powers cannot be transferred from one body to another by vesting the power of the President to the Prime Minister. This move cannot be endorsed.
He went on to note that they are not in this government with fear and that they are ready to leave at anytime.
