Central Provincial Minister Pramitha Bandara Tennakoon says that a political change will take place in the near future.

He says that Chandrika  Bandaranaike became an icon because of the SLFP. Mahinda Rajapaksa became an icon, a hero, because of the SLFP and it was the same with President Maithripala Sirisena.

The Minister went on to note that if it was not for the SLFP, Mahinda Rajapaksa will be plain Mahinda Rajapaksa.

Speaking further, he says that its their responsibility to protect the SLFP, the party that moulded, provided strength and made them grow.
