The first of the series of Dhamma Sermons that will be held every Poya Day, under the auspices of President Maithripala Sirisena, took place at the Budumuththawa Raja Maha Vihara in Nikaweratiya on April 3.
President Sirisena arrived at the Budumuththawa Raja Maha Vihara in Nikaweratiya engaged in religious observances and obtained blessings. The Dhamma sermons are scheduled to take place on Poya Day, highlighting the examples that need to be set out by leaders by joining with the people of the village for religious observances.
The President later visited the Chief Incumbent Venerable Dambagolle Dhammarama Thero and attended a sermon which was delivered by Aggamaha Panditha Ven. Kotugoda Dhammawasa Anunayake Thero.
