The Ministry of Health has taken steps to implement an All Island Dengue Eradication Week. The ministry says a week from  26 will be declared a Dengue Eradication Week.

Director of the Epidemiology Unit Dr. Paba Paliyawadana said that the aim of the programme is to eradicate the spread of the Dengue epidemic as a result of the inclement weather conditions forecast for the next few months.
