A suspect who was arrested for alleged Heroin possession has committed suicide inside a cell at the Ja-Ela Police Station.

The Police Media Unit stated that the individual was arrested along the Ekala route on Tuesday night and added that the 38-year-old hung himself using his clothing. Police also stated that he had previously been arrested on several occasions for the alleged possession of drugs.

The Police Media Unit added that his body is currently at lying the Ja-Ela Hospital.
