Minister of Finance, Ravi Karunanyake says that construction of the Army Headquarters in Athurugiriya will be suspended. Speaking at an event held in Colombo on Monday, the Minister said that this step was taken following several issues that have arisen surrounding the project.

A project to construct houses for low-income earning families commenced on Monday, March 16, at Cyril C. Perera Mawatha in Colombo 13. A housing complex comprising 500 houses is to be constructed under this project.
