Pakistan make good work of the UAE bowling attack as the first inning 25th match of the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup unfolded at McLean park, Napier on Wednesday morning.

Pakistan, who ever invited to bad first by UAE lost their first wicket for 10 runs as Manjula Guruge struck early to dismiss Pakistan’s opener Nasir Jamshed on the third over.

Haris Sohail came in to bat following Nasir’s dismissal and put up a massive 160 run partnership together with opener Ahmed Shehzad for the 2nd wicket before being dismissed by Mohammad Naveed for 70 runs.

The third Pakistani wicket fell denying Ahmed Shehzad a century as he was run out just 7 runs short of the 100 run mark.

Skipper Misbah-ul-Haq joined Sohaib Maqsood on the crease following Shehzad’s dismissal and saw the innings through with an unbeaten 65 runs in 49 deliveries.

At the United Arab Emirates bowling camp, Mohammad Naveed claimed a wicket for 50 runs in his 10 over spell as Sri Lankan-born Manjula Guruge bagged 4 wickets for 56 runs in his 8 over spell.

Pakistan managed to post 339 runs for the loss of 6 wickets at the end of the 50th over.
