Tilvin Silva, the JVP’s General Secretary, says those who do not have the strength to continue in politics by themselves, are attempting to stage a comeback for former President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
He was speaking at an event held in Ampara on Tuesday.
JVP General Secretary Tilvin Silva expressed the following views:
”Weerawansa, Dinesh and Vasudeva. They have been left with nowhere to go. The only road they have is to stage a comeback for Mahinda Rajapaksa or take away some of Mahinda Rajapaksa’s votes. In truth, they are not strong characters on the political field. They cannot do anything alone. They are like the parasites that grow on trees. These parasites cannot take root in the ground. It latches on to the branch of a tree and leeches off the lifeblood of the tree. They are not trees, but they appear like trees. What happens when the tree is uprooted? The parasites begin to die. Now the parasites are thinking that their lives can be saved only if they raise the tree again. So they like to replant felled trees. We believe that there is no need to rejuvenate Mahinda Rajapaksa’s politics.”
