Harsha de Silva, Deputy Minister of Policy Planning and Economic Affairs visited the homes of Nugegoda residents on Saturday and met with them.
A hand bill distribution programme to raise awareness amongst the locals of Pagoda, Nugegoda also took place.
Deputy Minister of Policy Planning and Economic Affairs, Harsha de Silva said that the good governance does not bind persons to trees. They need to be punished after they are found guilty before the law. Required steps are being taken. So, by tomorrow or the day after, the police and the judiciary will be capable of sending one or two of these perpetrators to their due place.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Minister also attended a Academic Prize Giving in Moratuwa on Friday evening.
A group including Dr.A.T. Ariyaratne were present for the event organised by the Sarvodaya Movement.
