Hemaka Amarasuriya, newly appointed chairman of the Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation, has assumed duties.

Hemaka Amarasuriya took up his duties on Friday at an event held at the Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation Head Office in Colombo.

Amarasuriya, who began his professional career as an administrative accountant in 1977, reached the post of director of Singer Industries (Ceylon) PLC within four years. Since 1985, Hemaka Amarasuriya served as the chairman of Singer Industries (Ceylon) PLC.
