Speaking at an event in Kolonnawa on Friday, Western Provincial Councillor S.M.Marikkar says that a mechanism that expedites punishments on perpetrators need to be implemented.
Western Provincial Councillor S.M. Marikkar presided at an event to donate chairs to the Wellampitiya Jumma Mosque in Kolonnawa on Friday.
Western Provincial Councillor, S.M.Marikkar said that there are no white vans today, people are not forcibly evicted from their homes.
He went on to say that on the other hand an environment has been created where politicians who assisted in drug trafficking are taken to the CID and sent on their way through the back door rather than arresting them and recording statements.
He said he believes that this needs to be change to one that will impose the maximum penalty on the wrong doers.
