The Learning Conference – Challenges in Talentism- was held in Colombo on Wednesday morning.
Deputy Minister of Policy Planning and Economic Development Dr. Harsha de Silva graced the occasion as the chief guest and keynote speaker.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Harsha de Silva expressed the following views:
We are going to move away from the authoritarian policy planning process to an engagement with the private sector, academia and research institutes. So that is essentially what we have to do, for every plan started, our objective is not to sit in some fancy government office and say: This is my HR policy, this is how I am going to allocate money in my budget for training, for education, for technical skills improvement. That engagement must happen between you and the government.
