A drastic increase in the number of Dengue cases has been recorded in the Colombo District.
Chief Medical Officer of the Colombo Municipal Council Dr. Ruwan Wijemuni said that even though dry weather conditions prevail in the country there is an imminent threat of the spread of the Dengue epidemic. He added that disposed containers with water which makes a safe haven for the breeding of dengue mosquitoes can be mostly seen in the Colombo North and Colombo Central area.
Dr. Wijemuni further urged the public to search their own area for Dengue breeding grounds and destroy them.
